Filer Identification Number and Password

Filer Identification Number and Password
Although you may begin entering your committee’s transactions immediately after you install the IDIS software, you will not be able to electronically file your reports until you have obtained a Filer Identification Number and Password from the State Board of Elections. NOTE: The Filer Identification Number (FID number) is not the same as the ‘State’ or ‘Local’ number assigned by the Board.

The FID number may be obtained by calling or e-mailing the Springfield office after the political committee has filed a Statement of Organization.

In order to be issued an FID number, a committee must choose a password. The password must be at least 5 characters long, no more than 32, and is case-sensitive.

The name of at least one contact person, a day-time phone number, and a 9-digit identification number unique to that person are required for security purposes. An e-mail address and a second contact person may also be designated.

Password and contact person information may be changed if necessary by contacting the Board. This information can be changed only if a current contact person contacts the Board and provides his 9-digit personal identification number.
